BroSpeech Privacy Policy

What data we collect

None. BroSpeech does not collect, store off your device, or send us any personal data.

Here is how the two moving parts actually work:

• Microphone audio: when you record, the app listens and converts your speech to text using a model that runs entirely on your phone (NVIDIA Parakeet, English, running locally through Apple CoreML). The audio is processed on the device in the moment, used only to make the text, and then discarded. It is never uploaded anywhere.
• Transcripts: the text BroSpeech produces is saved only on your phone, inside the app's private storage. We never receive it.

Because the speech model ships bundled inside the app, transcription works fully offline.

How your data is used

We do not use your data, because we never receive it. Everything happens locally so you can dictate, read back, copy, and share your own text. Nothing about your activity is profiled, measured, or reported. Your data never leaves your phone unless you choose to copy or share it yourself.

Data sharing

We do not share any data, because we never hold any. BroSpeech does not sell, rent, trade, or disclose your data to anyone. There are no third parties involved, no advertisers, and no analytics or marketing partners.

Data storage and retention

• On-device only: transcripts live in the app's private storage on your iPhone.
• Excluded from iCloud backup: transcripts are marked so they are not copied into your iCloud backups.
• Auto-delete after 90 days: by default, transcripts older than 90 days delete themselves. You can turn that off in the app if you would rather keep them.
• Delete anytime: you can remove all transcripts whenever you want using Delete All in the app's history.
• Removed on uninstall: deleting BroSpeech from your phone removes its data along with it.

Copy-to-clipboard is local to your device only. It does not sync through Universal Clipboard to your other Apple devices.

Permissions

BroSpeech asks for one permission: the microphone. It is used only to capture your speech so the app can transcribe it on the device. That is the entire reason for the request. The app does not use the microphone for anything else.

Children's privacy

BroSpeech does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children, because it collects no data at all. There is no account, no profile, and nothing sent off the device. Because there is nothing to gather, there is no personal data at risk for any user, including children.

Third-party services

None. BroSpeech contains no third-party SDKs that phone home, no advertising networks, and no analytics tools. The app makes no network calls to collect or transmit your information.

Changes to this policy

If we ever update this policy, we will post the new version here and update the effective date at the top. We will not begin collecting any data without first updating this policy here and updating the app's privacy details on the App Store.
